- Coordinate ongoing operations of the NB:
- Complete set-up of the room utilized prior to opening.
- Present a hot meal, beverage, and all amenities.
- Distribute hygiene items and other donations as available and appropriate.
- Sort and organize all donations.
- Welcome individuals as they enter and collect data on the sign-in sheet.
- Maintain calm and welcoming presence.
- Clean-up the room after each day of operation. Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas.
- Participation with service providers:
- Contact appropriate service providers and coordinate a schedule of their availability.
- Facilitate and welcome service providers.
- Post information in an organized manner. Update as necessary.
- Supervise those visiting the NB:
- Engage with individuals as appropriate and as welcomed by the individual.
- Set appropriate boundaries for behavior and utilize de-escalation skills as needed.
- Enter data into HMIS as required by contract and agency.
- Assist individuals conducting internet searches for employment, education and housing.
- Promote CCS Mission Statement in the community:
- Attend trainings as needed, including agency staff meetings.
- Welcome visitors from the community, including service providers and funders.
- Treat all clients in a culturally sensitive manner, assuring the CCS’ commitment to cultural diversity and inclusivity is met.
- Participate in advocacy efforts.
- Ensure that all required CCS trainings are completed in accordance with CCS policy.
- Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, bedbugs, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, and odors. Working conditions include interruptions, crisis response, and regular interactions with individuals who are dealing with issues of chemical dependency and/or mental illness, or are experiencing anger or frustration.

- Able to hear telephone rings, phone conversation and face-to-face conversation, door bells and emergency alarms.

- Vision that enables person to read normal size print and handwritten notes; and distance and peripheral vision than enables person to monitor living spaces and identify concerns that require staff response.
- Able to sit for sustained periods of time.
- Able to walk the entire building and ascend and descend stairs quickly to move from one floor to another in order to respond to emergency situations.
- Mobility/dexterity of hands/arms to enable keying into a unit or other locked area as well as using computers and other office equipment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to lift, move and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
- Regularly able to perform duties as assigned.
- Able to make independent decisions and apply sound judgment in performing job duties.
