Responsibilities

The Family Support Specialist Field Trainer (FSS Field Trainer) is responsible for providing field mentoring and training to FSS staff (50%) and also provide direct services as a Family Support Specialist (50%).

 

Field Training, Coaching and Mentoring of FSS staff:  Field Training duties include scheduling and working directly with FSS staff in the field coaching the provision of FSS services to children, youth and families.  The field coaching and training sessions should be documented and entered into an Electronic Health Record as appropriate according to Medicaid documentation standards.  .

 

Provision of FSS services to children, youth and their families, job duties include: implementing prescribed mental health treatment strategies, crisis response and de-escalation as needed, as well as Crisis Plan implementation. In addition, the FSS incorporates recovery-oriented wellness and individualized skill building strategies.  

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Age 21 or older per DSHS requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, human development or related field or Associate degree in social services, mental health or related degree with three years relevant experience or five years’ direct relevant experience as an FSS serving intensive need children and/or families (mental health, social services, education, etc.) may substitute for Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree.
