Rose of Lima House is a permanent supportive housing program for 50 women who were homeless at the time of entry, many of whom suffer from chronic and acute mental illness, substance use disorders, and trauma. Rose of Lima House is located at Bakhita Gardens, a building that also houses Noel House Programs, which provides shelter and related services for homeless women in several locations. Bakhita Gardens serves women of all ages (over 18 years) and ethnic backgrounds.
Women’s Advocates provide direct service to the community at Rose of Lima. Some of the duties include: maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, guests and staff; facilitating community activities, including cooking one community meal per week; janitorial duties, including garbage removal; and developing rapport with the residents to ensure a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Each shift is responsible for logging activities and incidents of note in the Rose of Lima electronic log.
Positions currently open:
Grave Shift: Sunday through Thursday, midnight to 8 a.m. (40 hours/week)
Swing Shift: Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to midnight (25 hours/week)
Weekend Swing Shift: Saturday and Sunday, 4 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. (16.5 hours/week)
On call shifts: Sunday through Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., 4 p.m. – midnight, 7 p.m. to midnight, midnight – 8 a.m.

Coordinate closely with Noel House Advocates and other staff to ensure security of building and to build cooperative relationship between the two programs co-located in Bakhita Gardens.
5. Administrative and General Responsibilities
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance. Working conditions may include interruptions and interactions with mentally ill, chemically dependent and angry persons.
