Assist adults in Grays Harbor County with complex behavioral health and/or substance use symptoms who possess significant problems with psychological and social functioning. Many of these clients are Medicaid eligible and experience homelessness or the risk of homelessness and present with mental health challenges in their journey toward treatment and/or recovery. The Mental Health Professional (MHP) works as part of a team with Peer Specialists, BA Level Clinicians and staff and local social service agencies in providing outreach and engagement services to engender trust and instill a sense of hope. This is a professional position that will also provide therapeutic interventions including intake evaluation and assessment to determine medical necessity, alcohol/drug screening and brief intervention, brief intervention treatment, family treatment, group treatment services, individual treatment services counseling and case management. It is anticipated that many of the duties of this position will be to provide skilled assessments of those seeking assistance.
The MHP will provide an evaluation that is culturally and age relevant initiated prior to the provision of any other mental health services, except crisis services, stabilization services and free-standing evaluation and treatment. The intake evaluation must be initiated within ten (10) business days of the request for services, establish the medical necessity for treatment and be completed within thirty (30) business days. The MHP will assist to ensure that routine services are initiated and those services may begin before the completion of the intake once medical necessity is established.
