  • Overview

    Francis Place is a 42 unit, 24/7 controlled access, permanent/supportive housing project for highly vulnerable, chronically homeless adults.   Incumbent would be part of the 24/7 support staff for residents and building operations.

     

    Incumbent is responsible for the supervision of staff and resources and for promoting a healthy environment. The position supervises 24/7 Residential Service Coordinators, ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, and is responsible for the safety of all residents, staff, and visitors.  The supervisor responds to all crisis situations at Francis Place in coordination with the Associate Director of Housing Services.

     

    This position is F/T, 37.5 hrs. per week.  

     

    Pay is $2,983.50 – 3,318.25 per month DOE, plus excellent holiday / vacation / sick pay and health benefits!

    Responsibilities

     

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Upholds and models the CCSWW Mission, Insights, Key Action Steps and Principles of Leadership.

     

    Supervision:

    • Supervises and reviews the performance of 6 full time Residential Service Coordinators.
    • Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality.
    • Sets Clear and Specific Expectations:
      • Regularly review job description(s) & work assignments; provides ongoing & regular feedback to staff.
      • Holds employee(s) supervised accountable for fulfilling job descriptions; ensures that responsibilities & work assigned are completed with consistent high quality & achieve desired results.
      • Regularly evaluates employees in a constructive, timely & affirming manner, consistent with CCSWW philosophy of employee development.  Takes appropriate action when employee performance does not meet expected standards.       
      • Review and address workplace safety issues.
      • Provides job specific orientation & training.
      • Commit to, model and assure zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior.
      • Develop and ensure the safekeeping of a workplace that values and supports a culturally and ethnically diverse work environment.

     

    Francis Place Responsibilities:

    • Respond to crises and provide support to staff, including after hours on-call rotation.
    • Act as point person to establish positive and proactive relationships with neighborhood residents and business. Inform Housing Manager of developments and engage as appropriate.
    • Oversee and provide behavioral management by helping staff and guests resolve conflicts and make pro-social choices.
    • Review daily logs including guest activity and respond to issues including limiting access to disruptive visitors.
    • Provide consultation to Residential Counselors to assist struggling residents and coordinate with Case Management Staff as appropriate.
    • Ensure that any assigned reports are completed and submitted on a timely basis.
    • Communicate any necessary recommendations for revision to security practices to peers and supervisor as needed to promote a safe environment and to support program and agency goals.
    • Work collaboratively with other CCS/CHS Francis Place staff to provide coordinated services to residents.
    • Ensure that Residential Service Coordinators monitor security cameras, provide back up to staff as needed for responding to loitering, drug activity or other potentially problematic behaviors within the surrounding neighborhood.
    • Facilitate regularly scheduled meetings with all Case Management Staff including those from outside agencies and engage CHS Building Staff as appropriate.
    • Ensure that appropriate safety and sanitation procedures are being followed by regularly inspecting the facility for cleanliness and safety and referring issues to Building Management.
    • Create activities and facilitate a service-rich environment to promote residents’ safety, stability, and personal growth.
    • Oversee and schedule activities in Common Room.
    • Ensure Associate Housing Director, Housing Director and appropriate CCS leadership are kept apprised and up-to-date on all relevant program/staff related information.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM:

    • BA in social services or related field.
    • 1 year experience working in social services.
    • Experience in supervising, leading and/or coordinating direct services staff on a daily basis.
    • Experience working with homeless individuals.
    • Work with diverse population including people with active mental health and chemical dependency issues.
    • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
    • Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy (required to provide current full record-driving abstract).
    • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services and a knowledge of and commitment to working within the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church.
    • Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork.
    • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
    • Criminal History Background Checks are required prior to employment.

    PREFERRED:

    • Master’s Degree in social services or related field.
    • Experience with program development and management.
