Catholic Community Services, Homeless Adult Services (HAS) is the largest provider of adult homeless services in Tacoma, Washington. Nativity House (NH), a program of HAS, is the central hub to serve homeless adults in the Pierce County region. It operates 24-hour/7-day a week, offering services (emergency shelter, meals, systematic outreach, Rapid Rehousing, Mental Health and Co-Occurring Disorder treatment, Employment Services, Spiritual Support, 50 units of permanent supportive housing, etc.) to meet the basic needs of individuals experiencing chronic homelessness guests with meeting their goals. The Stability Site is a homeless shelter/ meals site that provides 1-3 meals daily (Sunday through Monday), as well as a safe and respectful environment where homeless and low-income individuals in Tacoma and Pierce County may access an array of emergency and supportive services. Benedict House offers emergency and transitional housing for single homeless men and homeless men with children in Kitsap County. Consisting of 24 beds and one family room, Benedict House also provides case management, meals, and other essential supports for residents. Nativity House Apartments is a permanent supportive housing and services facility for currently and formerly homeless individuals utilizing the Housing First model. This position fills the need to have 24-hour monitoring staff on-site to assist staff, residents, guests and visitors. While on shift at the front desk, the Resident Coordinator’s primary focus is the Nativity House Apartments to provide on-site monitoring, program enforcement and assistance for staff, residents, guests and visitors.
Staff in this position provides supervision, program structure, behavior management and a wide range of basic needs services, as well as more advanced social services. This includes helping guests navigate a myriad of social service agencies, forms and interviews. Staff is trained in behavior management, basic case services, as well as motivational interviewing and other counseling skills. This positon is a floating position and would require you to travel and to work at multiple locations in Tacoma and Bremerton. The job locations are at the Nativity House (Tacoma), Nativity House Apartment (Tacoma), the Stability Site (Tacoma) and Benedict House (Bremerton). The shifts for the positions varies, staff will be required to work Days, Evenings and Graveyard shifts.
**4 positions are Full time for the following shifts**
Day shift: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Evening shift: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am
Graveyard shift: 12:00 am – 8:00 am
This is a floater position where location varies: Benedict House, Nativity House, Nativity House Apartments, and Stability Site
Maintain order and communicate/enforce rules and policies.
Maintain an atmosphere conducive to a good night’s rest for the emergency shelter.
Provide resident services and information.
Other duties as assigned.
