$500 HIRING BONUS!

CCS is offering a $500 hiring bonus for P/T Variable/Substitute Residential Service Coordinator positions that are filled through July 2020 or until filled.

 

Hiring Bonus Criteria(This is a 24/7 facility, so flexibility is needed.)

 

($250 on first paycheck and $250 upon successful completion of 90 day intro period.

 

Clare’s Place will provide 65 units of permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless and vulnerable households in Snohomish County. Catholic Community Services of Western Washington will provide supportive services to the residents, with a focus on long-term stability. Clare’s Place will provide another housing choice for chronically homeless households that have difficulty finding and qualifying for housing in the private market and that are seeking a supportive community.

 

P/T Variable/Substitute positions – between 0-37.5 hrs. per week; hours are based on program need.  No guarantee of any specific set number of hours per week.  (2 position openings)

 

*Current Availability Needed:

Substitute coverage for primarily weekends and overnights!  Additional availability for substitute coverage for nights and other reasonable coverage during the week/weekends is a plus.

 

Pay is $16.32 - $17.14/hr. DOE.

 

For internal candidates/union positions only: Compensation is set by agreed to language in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CCSNW & SEIU 1199NW and determined based on experience.

Responsibilities

JOB CONDITIONS:

This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance. Working conditions may include interruptions and interactions with angry persons.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact and model appropriate professional behaviors with residents in the general milieu of Clare’s Place common areas.
  • Coordinate and facilitate outside services with residents:
    • Contact outside service providers to schedule, confirm and manage a variety of appointments.
  • Provide outreach and engagement of service-resistant residents through creative, resourceful strategies that build trust and confidence.
  • Initiate, facilitate and promote on-site recreational and therapeutic activities (such as, but not limited to Community Garden & CD Group coordination and Social engagement & enrichment activities).
  • Ensure all functions in lobby office are run efficiently and effectively, including checking visitors in and out, answering telephones and monitoring security systems.
  • Acts as first responder to neighbor/community concerns promptly and professionally; ensure coordination with Supervisor and Housing Director as needed.
  • Maintain safety and security by monitoring all general access areas and enforcing building rules including street front.
  • Respond to emergencies and initiate action as required, including contact with emergency response systems; may include resident welfare checks.
  • Ensure significant events involving residents and building operation activities are recorded accurately in daily log:
    • Read daily logs upon shift entry
    • Pass on all necessary information during shift overlap for seamless coverage
    • Elevate issues as appropriate to Supervisor
  • Respond to resident complaints involving other residents; coordinate with Supervisor, CHS Building Manager, and/or community partners as needed.
  • Assess resident requests for maintenance, lease issues, rent payments, etc. in order to evaluate for appropriate assistance and/or direction to CHS building staff or other relevant services.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings (including internal CCS programs, CHS staff as needed, and community partners).
  • Attend trainings as needed/required.
  • Provide transportation to residents as needed/requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Experience working with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or challenging behaviors (including but not limited to mental illness and/or substance abuse-addiction).
  • Understanding of homelessness and various characteristics of homeless adult populations.
  • Reliable transportation, WA State Driver’s License & proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Proof of acceptable driving record (Driving Abstract-Employer version-full driving record required).
  • Active or ability to obtain a Food Handlers Permit.
  • Active or ability to obtain CPR/First Aid training.
  • Must be available to work some evening and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from various backgrounds.
  • Able to communicate effectively in with staff, residents, and community partners.
  • Ability to learn crisis intervention skills and behavior management.
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.
  • Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
  • Criminal History Background Checks are required prior to employment.

PREFERRED:

  • Residential property management experience.
