The SKC Shelter programs serve single adults ages 18 and older. These programs directly address the issues of homelessness in South King County by providing a safe place for homeless individuals to rest and receive a nourishing meal, as well as giving them the opportunity to stabilize and work on self-sufficiency through case management. Those who stay at the shelter are provided with case management services which focus on addressing income needs, mental health and CD issues, Veterans’ services, securing permanent affordable housing and health care for each individual.
This is low-barrier inclusive program. The Services Manager is a key member of the South King County Leadership team
South King County Shelter provides 24/7 enhanced shelter and related services for adults experiencing homelessness in the area. Some clients have chronic and acute mental illness, active addiction issues, and/or trauma. This is a low-barrier program with a harm reduction approach to the way we provide services. The Services Manager will supervise the Case Managers and Student Interns to ensure that Participants are moved quickly into permanent supportive housing.
The Services Manager is responsible for comprehensively understanding the targeted population of the program, handling specific administrative functions, providing support and oversight of the service management team, and serving as the Program Manager in the Program Manager’s absence. This position incorporates direct client service, advocacy and program administration.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, and odors.
