$18.72 per hour DOE. This position has one full time and one part-time opening, shift may vary. 


Program Description

Rose of Lima House provides permanent, supportive housing (PSH) to formerly homeless women in a respectful, community focused environment. We seek to encourage independence and provide women with the tools to move out of homelessness, permanently.

Direct service

  • Model interpersonal and living skills for clients
  • Explain and enforce building and program rules
  • Maintain and safe and comfortable environment
  • Coordinate with in-house social service team, make referrals for service, and follow-up as needed
  • Maintain and safe and comfortable environment
  • Participate with residents in community meal preparation and cleanup

Provide janitorial support

  • Removal of residential and commercial trash and recycling
  • Clean common area floors and bathrooms as appropriate
  • Assist tenants with the cleanliness of their apartments
  • Clean spills of in common areas

Front Desk Administration

  • Data entry
  • Pack and prepare kits for distribution to all tenants
  • Maintain organization of common areas
  • Greet tenants and visitors, assuring they sign in properly, and maintain the safety of the first floor

Coordinate with Noel House Staff and Program Volunteers

  • Coordinate closely with Noel House Advocates and other staff to ensure security of building and to build cooperative relationship between the two programs
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers and assist them to resolve difficult situations with residents

General Responsibilities

  • Work as a team with other staff, as well as independently without direct supervision
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, retreats, and in-service classes as provided
  • Maintain accurate record of hours worked and turn in timesheets on schedule
  • Contribute to and support a positive, team-oriented work environment; participate with other staff members in group decision-making process
  • Maintain cleanliness and order at advocate station
  • Inform supervisors of facilities and tenant-related issues



Minimum Qualifications 

  • Minimum of of six months of social service
  • Understanding the issues that homeless women face
  • Demonstrate problem-solving/issue assessment skills, and/or crisis intervention or conflict mediation skills
  • Basic computer skills with ability to maintain accurate records
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Must have a reliable phone or voicemail service
  • Successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment
  • Ability to work independently in addition to working as a member of a team
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services 
  • Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College level classes in Social Service or Human Services
  • Previous work experience in a women-focused social service program
