Program Description
The Housing and Essential Needs (HEN) program provides rental assistance, housing search assistance, annual bus passes and monthly essential needs bags to over 2,000 disabled adults who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of losing their housing. It is a statewide program and Catholic Community Services is contracted by King County to deliver the services locally. Foundational Community Support (FCS) is a program that provides Supportive Housing and Supportive Employment Services such as case management, skill building, and housing and job search assistance to help qualifying folks on Medicaid with complex health and other risk factors find and maintain housing and employment. This position lives on the HEN team, but works closely with the FCS team, and is responsible for providing clients, who are eligible for a HEN-FCS Bridge grant, with rental assistance and case management.

Housing and Essential Needs is a statewide program. Catholic Community Services has contracted with Thurston County and works with the Washington State Department of Commerce to implement and deliver Housing and Essential Needs benefits in Thurston County. DSHS clients enrolled in Medical Care Services (MCS) and ABD are eligible to receive funding to help cover rental and/or utility expenses, get temporary hotel stays, obtain essential items, etc.
The Outreach Case Manager works in collaboration with the rest of the CCS HEN team. The Outreach Case Manager completes HEN eligibility intakes at primary office as well as in various areas of Thurston County. Program Description
CCS King County’s Workforce Development program focuses on helping clients and staff begin and build careers in housing and homelessness services. Programs include three components:
- Aspiring Social Services Employee Training (ASSET) in-house training program that prepares clients for entry-level positions (operational)
- Social Service Provider Academy (SSPA) certificate programs in partnership with local colleges to help entry-level staff at CCS and partner agencies build their careers in housing and homelessness services (pilot phase)
- An in-house computer skills training program for students and CCS staff who have not had sufficient opportunities to learn the computer skills required for human services work (pilot phase).

The SUD Professional facilitates Intensive Outpatient groups and staffs with the treatment team. The position involves case management, processing groups, alcohol and drug assessments, file maintenance, and record keeping. The SUD Professional provides a minimum of 20 hours per week of direct client contact.

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Staff Accountant position serves under the direct supervision of the regional office’s Accounting Supervisor and is generally responsible for processing transactions in one or more of the following operational areas. The general ledger accounts affected by these transactions are of a routine operational nature. In addition, this position maintains all MIS data related to tasks described below.

The primary function of The Community Kitchen (TCK) Kitchen Lead is to help and coordinate the distribution of meals daily in a pleasant, healthy, safe and secure manner during the COVID-19 pandemic and to lead on-site meals at The Community Kitchen. The Kitchen Lead reports to the Program Supervisor and partners with other Kitchen staff in in leading a variety of groups including volunteers, to prepare, cook and serve on-site meals in an effort to produce food to those in need, many who are without homes, store food properly after meal service, cleaning and sanitizing the site, and closing down the kitchen nightly.. The Kitchen Lead must hold a current Washington State food handler’s card and/or ServeSafe Certification, and a current Washington State driver’s license and drivers insurance.

Position Description
The primary focus of the Leasing & Certification Specialist is to process new applications for move in; and complete annual household certifications for designated properties determined by the Director of Property Management. This position may manage or support the application process with local teams of new staff during intensive lease-ups of new buildings, depending on need. At other times this position will supplement existing staff during periods of high vacancy in buildings throughout the portfolio. This position will process new applications that are referral based from internal and external partners, from property waitlists, prospects from marketing, and unit transfers. They will complete certification paperwork and determine eligibility based on the property screening criteria. In addition, this position will complete annual household certifications in accordance with the properties’ funding requirements and regulations. This position requires thorough knowledge of the extensive paperwork which varies by program type, population, and funding. Attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines are crucial. It requires understanding of housing for vulnerable populations. This position requires travel between properties, and at times off site to meet with applicants that may be in shelter and have limited resources for travel. Mileage compensation will be provided.
