4:30pm-6:30pm, Monday-Friday


Program Description

Issaquah Meals Program (IMP) is a community based program relying on volunteers to cook and serve dinners Monday through Friday to those in need in the Issaquah area. The IMP is a free hot meal program with no questions asked and are provided free of charge regardless of race, color, sexual orientation, marital status, families with children, political ideology, age, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, veteran or military status.

 

Position Description

The Site Leader plays a critical role on the IMP, keeping safe and smooth nightly operations, maintaining records, and ensure program policies and procedures are being followed. This position is the main point of contact for the community utilizing the IMP and responsibilities include excellent customer service skills, organization skills, and providing a safe and inviting atmosphere for volunteers and guests. 

Responsibilities

  • Operation of program from open to close.
  • Oversight and participation of volunteer set up and clean up each night.
  • Assist with training for volunteer groups.
  • Ensure each group completes roster for volunteer participation and hours.
  • Expert in local resources like food bank, chemical dependency, housing programs, and shelters in community to relay to clients.
  • Maintain inclusive and safe environment for all participants and volunteers.
  • Communicate regularly with VS Coordinator.
  • Maintain record keeping of daily counts and nightly summary in database.
  • Recruit groups to commit in serving on open nights and onboarding them. 

Requirements

  • Obtain a food handler permit
  • Follow through and maintain confidentiality guidelines.
  • Follow all Health Department and CCS policies.

Job Conditions

This position requires the employee to be on their feet and be able to move quickly around the room to address multiple needs. Multitasking, being sensitive and calm, and focusing on safety and risk management at all times.

Qualifications

  • Strong typing and data entry skills.
  • Comfort and experience in phone work and referrals.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organization skills.
  • Ability work independently and/or as a part of a team.
  • Belief in the importance of service to our community.
  • Experience working with people experiencing hunger, homelessness, addiction, mental health, and poverty.
  • Patience, reliability, dependability.
  • Strong sense of self and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to follow and maintain strong boundaries and to recognize when a request is beyond the scope of the program and merits a referral
  • Ability to motivate and organize others.
  • Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment.
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services and commitment working within the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in second language
