Provide a variety of educational services designed to meet the unique needs of unaccompanied immigrant children and youth in federal custody under the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), placed in Long Term Foster Care with Catholic Community Services. The position has six components: 1) Developing and maintaining a small tutoring team that can work in the community after-school at various sites, 2) providing strong advocacy at various public schools for recent immigrant youth in foster care, 3) assessing and tracking educational progress, 4) developing summer enrichment activities that meet the specific needs of youth, and 5) assist with tracking foster family training requirements. 6) Provide case management to 1 or 2 youth at a time. Ultimately, the goal is to develop educational enrichment activities that will help youth overcome barriers and assure that foster families meet specific program training requirements and facilitate adjustment for youth in foster care.
