The Key Holder responds to tenant requests to unlock their apartment, unlocks or locks the community room when applicable, conducts basic building safety checks, and performs other observation duties as assigned by the Property Manager. The Key Holder must never share or lend the Master Key under any circumstances. The Master Key must remain accessible only to the designated Key Holder and not to any family members. Keys may only be used for authorized CHS purposes as outlined in this role. The Key Holder must notify the Property Manager of any key use immediately, and no later than within 24 hours.
This position requires living on site and being available in person or by phone when staff are not on site. It is an on‑call position compensated at $16.66 per hour.
Provide lock out service coverage as needed, and when available. (It is recognized that the Key Holder will be away from the property at times. A tenant may have to wait to be let into their building and/or apartment if the Key Holder is away from the property.) Responsibly respond to emergencies on the property, as should any other responsible tenant.
Job Conditions
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, and odors. Other working conditions may include interruptions, working alone, evening or weekend work responding to emergencies and working on-call.
