Residents enjoy a large open community room that includes a full kitchen. A separate library with TV, books, puzzles and a computer as well as a hobby room on the 2nd floor for various activities and gathering opportunities.   These units are subsidized by the HUD 202 program and residents receive federal assistance with their rent.   PositionDescription The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) serves as part of the on-site team but is supervised by an off-site supervisor. The RSC is charged with the tasks of creating community within the building, providing information and referrals, and collaborating with other service providers.  The RSC will assist residents and outside elderly community members in obtaining the services they need or want to maintain independence, self-sufficiency, and life satisfaction. Connecting residents to social services and programs that focus on housing success, general wellness, crisis intervention, employment, education, and health and safety is the primary duty of this position.     To effectively house our residents, housing management staff and services staff strive to cooperate and work in tandem.  Housing management and services staff share common goals: the health and wellbeing of residents and the sustainability of the property.  Support for our residents is the overarching goal that CHS strives to achieve, and each of our employees, no matter what their role is an active participant in striving for that.   The person in this position will work closely and collaborate and communicate on a regular and frequent basis with Building Management staff, including the Manager and Facilities staff.

This position maintains the relationships with the Tenant Law Center, Washington Department of Veterans Affairs, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and Pierce County Veterans program.  As a part of the Pierce County Continuum of Care, they help facilitate the Veteran By-Name List meeting. They monitor all permanent housing placements and temporary financial assistance for hundreds of SSVF and Rapid Rehousing clients.  They also manage the emergency housing placements in hotels for SSVF clients, including fostering and managing relationships with hotels.  They prepare reports for funders; and are responsible for oversight of data quality. This position oversees over $­­­5 million in federal contracts through the VA in coordination with the Programs Directors across King, Pierce and Balance of State Counties and spanning the King County and Southwest CCS regions.

This position manages approximately $1.9 million of funding annually.   The Program Manager takes a lead role in advocating for increased low barrier harm reduction services and permanent housing opportunities that can accommodate this vulnerable population.  This requires managing strong relationships with community leaders and funders.    This position directly supervises the Operations Manager and Supportive Services Manager.

This position supervises and coordinates activities of volunteers engaged in serving, food preparation and cooking, dishwashing, and enforces our “Clean as you go” policy.  The cook plans meals based on the incoming inventory each day and the food in the freezer/refrigerator to minimize waste and spoilage.  The evening cook is responsible for ensuring that the volunteer groups who come in to cook dinner for our homeless guests know how to use our kitchen equipment correctly and assist them with any questions that they may have about preparing the food. They will ensure that volunteers leave the kitchen clean, make sure that all of the food is put away, wipe down serving and cutting counters including kitchen equipment, and sweep and mop the floor before they leave. They will be responsible for cooking the meal if a volunteer group is not scheduled or does not show up.
