The position is responsible for year round case management, and will coordinate with the Lead advocate, and services advocate team to make sure that clients are well served. The Case Manager will spend at least one evening a week connecting with clients in addition to day time hours.

$17.48 – $18.53 HR/DOE   The primary function of The Community Kitchen (TCK) Temporary Kitchen Lead is to pick-up and coordinate the distribution of to-go meals daily at multiple sites in a pleasant, healthy, safe and secure manner during the COVID-19 pandemic and to lead on-site meals at The Community Kitchen.  This is a temporary position with variable hours Monday through Sunday.  The Kitchen Lead reports to the Community Involvement Coordinator and partners with other Kitchen staff to oversee the activities and efforts of the loading and unloading, serving to-go meals, and in cleaning and sanitizing both on and off-site.  The Kitchen Lead will work with other staff to pick-up, the return of food and other supplies, and to clean-up pans, Cambros, and other tools and will lead a variety of groups including volunteers, to prepare, cook and serve on-site meals in an effort to produce food to those in need, many who are without homes.  The sites of meal delivery and service may include, homeless encampments, quarantine and isolation sites, shelters and other sites as directed by Thurston County. The Lead must hold a current Washington State food handler’s card and/or ServeSafe Certification, and a current Washington State driver’s license and drivers insurance.   ***3 Part Time Positions Available - 20 Hours a week***

Our mission is to provide a hospitable and low barrier shelter with a harm reduction model. This is to be done in the spirit of the ministry of presence, which fosters attention to the individual and respect for each person’s unique situation. This shelter is for a population of older people who are vulnerable to the weather, street predators, and illness. These people may be high needs, have serious physical disabilities, chronic and acute mental illness, active chemical dependency and trauma. Junction Point Shelter emphasizes moving people into permanent housing through case management. CCS is committed to making our services, our agencies and our communities free of the divisive and dehumanizing ravages of racism. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and generous paid leave.    Property Description The Maintenance Tech III maintains the facilities for three properties that provides affordable housing for families in Tacoma, WA.  Matsusaka Townhomes has 33 units, Emmons Apartment has 26 units, and Guadalupe Vista has 50 units.   Position Description The Maintenance III is responsible for the properties exterior and interior facility upkeep including managing a preventative maintenance schedule specifically designed for each unique property and its own equipment.  This position is moving into a leadership role and is able to direct self and others to achieve positive property facilities functions. Assist the Property and Facility Directors to identify Capital and on-going needs.  Manage day-to-day tasks of unit turns, work orders, scheduling and overseeing vendor’s performances.  Coordinate closely with management staff to set schedules and priorities, manage supplies and inventory, and respond to after-hour emergencies. This is a full-time position (40) forty hours a week. Perform a variety of routine general building maintenance tasks, limited grounds maintenance and janitorial duties. Assist with non-routine preparations on units for new tenants. Assist with maintaining building security systems, immediately reporting problems to the Property Manager and entering units only as directed by the property manager within CHS guidelines. Seek to provide tenants with a safe, positive and sanitary living environment. Perform these tasks with minimum supervision, applying solid work experience in this area.

Some units are set-asides for formerly homeless individuals being served through a number of programs that provide case management support to residents in those units.  A Catholic parish, Christ Our Hope, is the primary commercial tenant of the building and shares common space with residential tenants.  A homeless women’s hygiene program and a non-profit self-managed shelter provider also are located in the building.  The building is the largest single property in the portfolio of Catholic Housing Services of Western Washington, and is closely aligned with the mission of the Catholic Church.   Position Description Responsible for cleaning building common areas and units during turnover. Seek to provide tenants with a safe, positive and sanitary living environment.

Many clients have chronic and acute mental illness, active addition issues, and /or trauma. This is low-barrier, harm reduction program. Advocates are responsible for providing direct service to the participants, assisting with the goal of moving participants quickly into permament housing and fostering a team enviornment among shelter staff and volunteers.

Registered Nurse African American Elders Program Full Time $30.00 - $36.00      The African American Elders Program serves African American Elders living in Seattle, Shoreline, and South King County. The program identifies frail, isolated elders, and their caregivers, and assist them in accessing and receiving needed social and health services through ongoing care coordination, support and referrals. The nurse addresses the health effects of inequalities in the prevalence of risk factors and chronic conditions of older African Americans.   This position covers a range of services from assessment through teaching, counseling, health coaching and follow-up activities with the medical community and care coordinators.   The AAEP Nurse promotes access to clinical and preventative health services by: 1. Accessing the functional, medical history, cognitive function, medications, health and well-being of the client, family and home environment. 2. Advocating and Coordinating client care with other health and resource providers, family and community members. 3. Assisting clients with health related referrals, obtain insurance, manage medications, access primary, and specialty care, and other referrals which will improve the clients functioning. 4. Eliminating barriers to care. 5. Monitoring health status of clients. 6. The Federal Way Day Center is open five days per week, Monday through Friday. The Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supervision of volunteers, daily operations oversight of the Federal Way Day Center.

Work schedule may vary.    Program Description The Lazarus Day Center provides a warm, safe, hospitable place with a community atmosphere for homeless and marginally housed men and women age 50 and older. On an average day, 350 individuals come through our doors seeking food and shelter. The center is open 365 days a year from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. As a result of their age and living conditions, the majority of our guests suffer from mental and physical disabilities. The Center opened in July 1990 to serve this special population of elderly people who are vulnerable to the weather, street predators, and illness.   Position Description The Lead Floor Monitor assigns these duties to the Floor Monitors (and him or herself), connects with day staff, provides guidance to staff and volunteers in completing their duties, and provides leadership in crisis intervention or other issues during the shift.
