Nativity House (NH), a program of HAS, is the central hub to serve homeless adults in the Pierce County region.   It operates 24-hour/7-day a week, offering services (emergency shelter, meals, systematic outreach, Rapid Rehousing, Mental Health and Co-Occurring Disorder treatment, Employment Services, Spiritual Support, 50 units of permanent supportive housing, etc.) to meet the basic needs of individuals experiencing chronic homelessness guests with meeting their goals.   The Stability Site is a homeless shelter/ meals site that provides 1-3 meals daily (Sunday through Monday), as well as a safe and respectful environment where homeless and low-income individuals in Tacoma and Pierce County may access an array of emergency and supportive services.   Staff in this position provide supervision, program structure, behavior management and a wide range of basic needs services, as well as more advanced social services. This includes helping guests navigate a myriad of social service agencies, forms and interviews. Staffs are trained in behavior management, basic case services, as well as Motivational Interviewing and other counseling skills.

The Outreach Case Manager completes HEN eligibility intakes at primary office as well as in various areas of Kitsap County. This position helps establish sites where intakes can be conducted so that all applicants do not have to come to the main office in Bremerton. This position also provides Case Management and Crisis Intervention services for identified clients who are having difficulty finding housing, employment, and other resources. This position helps current clients find resources that they can use to transition off the HEN Program. This is a 20-hour per week position with a client case load that varies from 1 to 12 clients, with the usual average of  6 clients.  The Mental Health Specialist will also assist as a navigator for contracting outside services for children during times of influx, or other situations when back-up is needed.   Some of the therapeutic services are office based, and some are community based to decrease barriers.  The expectation is that driving will occur across counties a few times per week.  The agency will issue laptop and cell phone to assist with community-based services.  Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Perform these tasks with minimum supervision, applying excellence in this area. The weekly work days for this position are Fridays-Tuesdays with the off days being Wednesdays and Thursdays.
