The program assists clients in locating housing, addressing barriers to renting, and provides advocacy on behalf of clients with landlords.   Position Description Housing Case Managers should expect to meet with clients at least monthly and possibly more depending on client needs. They will prepare both immediate and long term goals based on the progressive engagement model while providing the support to achieve these goals. Applicants are generally alcohol-dependent and may have co-occurring disorders and histories of trauma. Referrals to the Wintonia are primarily from the Dutch Shisler Sobering Center. The Wintonia provides permanent supportive housing within a Housing First and Harm Reduction model. The Wintonia team works from a multi-disciplinary approach in which all staff coordinate services to promote housing stability in an environment that honors and respects the dignity of each resident. The Wintonia is a 92-single-room-occupancy building in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood serving men and women coming out of King County’s Dutch Shisler Sobering Support Center.   Position Description The Maintenance Tech III is responsible for the properties exterior and interior facility upkeep including managing a preventative maintenance schedule specifically designed for each unique property and its own equipment.  This position is moving into a leadership role and is able to direct self and others to achieve positive property facilities functions. Assist the Property and Facility Directors to identify Capital and on-going needs.  Manage day-to-day tasks of unit turns, work orders, scheduling and overseeing vendor’s performances.  Coordinate closely with management staff to set schedules and priorities, manage supplies and inventory, and respond to after-hour emergencies.    This is a full-time position (40) forty hours a week. No referrals are needed for entry into the program. Participants run the entire spectrum of needs. Many clients have chronic and acute physical health, mental illness, active addiction issues, and/or trauma. This is a low-barrier, harm reduction program. Advocates are responsible for providing direct service to the participants, assisting with the goal of moving participants quickly into permanent housing, and fostering a team environment among shelter staff and volunteers.

This includes outreach activities in the community, completing thorough intakes and eligibility screening with referred clients, assessing housing needs and providing prompt financial assistance as needed for housing costs, and/or assisting clients to secure housing if they are homeless. The case manager actively uses Housing First and progressive engagement while interviewing and working with veteran households. In addition, the case manager enters client data into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). In collaboration with the service team, the Case Manager is responsible for developing and implementing client-defined, goal-oriented Housing Stability Plans, assessing the needs of referred households, utilizing VA and community resources to meet identified individual needs with the goal of stabilizing permanent housing in the shortest time possible. This position works closely with the Veterans Program Supervisor and provides support as requested with the overall objective to provide outstanding case management to families served by Catholic Community Services.
