Applicants are generally alcohol-dependent and may have co-occurring disorders and histories of trauma. Referrals to the Wintonia are primarily from the Dutch Shisler Sobering Center. The Wintonia provides permanent supportive housing within a Housing First and Harm Reduction model. The Wintonia team works from a multi-disciplinary approach in which all staff coordinate services to promote housing stability in an environment that honors and respects the dignity of each resident. The Wintonia is a 92-single-room-occupancy building in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood serving men and women coming out of King County’s Dutch Shisler Sobering Support Center.   Position Description The Maintenance Tech III is responsible for the properties exterior and interior facility upkeep including managing a preventative maintenance schedule specifically designed for each unique property and its own equipment.  This position is moving into a leadership role and is able to direct self and others to achieve positive property facilities functions. Assist the Property and Facility Directors to identify Capital and on-going needs.  Manage day-to-day tasks of unit turns, work orders, scheduling and overseeing vendor’s performances.  Coordinate closely with management staff to set schedules and priorities, manage supplies and inventory, and respond to after-hour emergencies.    This is a full-time position (40) forty hours a week. Perform a variety of routine general building maintenance tasks, limited grounds maintenance and janitorial duties. Assist with non-routine preparations on units for new tenants. Assist with maintaining building security systems, immediately reporting problems to the Property Manager and entering units only as directed by the property manager within CHS guidelines. Seek to provide tenants with a safe, positive and sanitary living environment. Perform these tasks with minimum supervision, applying solid work experience in this area.

No referrals are needed for entry into the program. Participants run the entire spectrum of needs. Many clients have chronic and acute physical health, mental illness, active addiction issues, and/or trauma. This is a low-barrier, harm reduction program. Advocates are responsible for providing direct service to the participants, assisting with the goal of moving participants quickly into permanent housing, and fostering a team environment among shelter staff and volunteers.

Position Description We have several openings for the Case Manager position across our eight permanent supportive housing programs to best match your passions, skills and level of experience facing housing instability in King County.  Our programs vary as they serve single adults, couples and co-ed buildings. These positions are full-time (37.5 hours weekly).   We believe that every person has the right to a safe, affordable place to call home.  We seek case managers who care deeply about the health and well-being of our residents who have lived through the trauma of homelessness.   The case managers in our permanent supportive housing programs works independently and as part of a team to provide outreach, ongoing case management and individualized service plans to residents.  This position is responsible for providing a range of supportive interventions to increase stability for residents, focusing especially on housing retention and behavioral health.  As part of ongoing support, the case manager coordinates with other members of the team by referring residents to other needed services (ie., medical, legal, etc.).

This includes outreach activities in the community, completing thorough intakes and eligibility screening with referred clients, assessing housing needs and providing prompt financial assistance as needed for housing costs, and/or assisting clients to secure housing if they are homeless. The case manager actively uses Housing First and progressive engagement while interviewing and working with veteran households. In addition, the case manager enters client data into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
